EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY the Union County Clerk’s Office will no longer be accepting transactions in our drive thru. In order to protect the safety of the staff and the public, the office will only offer information in the drive thru. Governor Bill Lee has granted expiration extensions on vehicle tags until June 15, 2020 if the tag is set to expire in March or April. If you feel you must renew your tags, visit www.tncountyclerk.com, mail your renewal to 825 Main St. Maynardville, TN 37807, or pay by phone at 865-992-8043. If your driver license is set to expire in the months of March and April, Governor Bill Lee granted a 6-month extension for those. You may also renew you your driver license online by visiting tn.gov.
In order for Union County, the State of Tennessee, and the United States to win this fight against COVID-19, everyone needs to reduce their risk by practicing social distancing and practice safer at home guidelines. Governor Bill Lee has put provisions in place so that citizens do not have to come to the County Clerk’s office, so please use those provisions to your advantage. Please understand that closing the office to the public was not an easy decision, but it was the correct decision for the health and safety of the staff and the citizens of Union County.
