
Pam Graves Ailor is the daughter of the late William P. (Bill) Graves and the late Jeanne Turner Graves of Maynardville. She is a lifelong resident of Union County and a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Maynardville. She graduated from Horace Maynard High School and attended the University of Tennessee. Prior to being elected to the office of Union County Clerk in August 2007, she was employed at the Union County Public School System in the technology department. She has been married to Earl Ailor II for 25 years and they have two sons Clark and Blake. Earl is a certified Funeral Director and Mortician and is employed at the family business, Ailor Mortuary. He also owns and operates an excavating business. Clark is employed at UPS and attends Roane State Community College. Blake is employed at TVA and attends Roane State Community College.
Pam has four full time employees and one part-time position. The part-time position is shared between two people. Joyce Dyer is her chief deputy clerk. She ensures that all paperwork and documents are ready to be sent to Nashville. Larry Brantley operates the driver’s license station, as well as the motor vehicle division. Elizabeth Buck does all the bookkeeping and county commission minutes. Carolyn Massengile is in charge of the balancing, renewal processing, and ordering of office supplies. Justin Collins and Ashley Hopson share the part-time position and do all office responsibilities. In addition to all of the above individual duties, each employee is responsible forserving all customers. After being elected to the office, Pam hasadded a new computer program thru the Business Information System software provider. To better serve the customers, the Clerk’s office is now open all day on Wednesday. Therefore, the office hours are Monday thru Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and Saturday 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. Credit and debit cards are now being accepted at the office for all transactions and online for renewals. Marriage license and notary applications can also be filled out online to be completed at the office. The County Clerk’s office also offers a Drivers License station that is used for driver’s license renewals, new resident license, and duplication of driver’s license. The office will be relocating across the street at the former Commerical Bank Building by approximately the first of September 2007. When relocated, a drive thru window will be offered for renewals only IF you have your registration with you. A place for marriages will also be offered if the couple chooses to be married by the County Clerk. The new relocation will be more accessible for the handicapped and for customers that have business for the Clerks office only. This site will be updated when the office is moved to the new location.
