Meet Pam Ailor

Pam Graves Ailor is the daughter of the late William P. (Bill) Graves and the late Jeanne Turner Graves of Maynardville.  She is a lifelong resident of Union County and a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Maynardville.  She graduated from Horace Maynard High School and attended the University of Tennessee.  Prior to being elected to the office of Union County Clerk in August 2007, she was employed at the Union County Public School System in the technology department.  She has been married to Earl Ailor II for 25 years and they have two sons Clark and Blake.  Earl is a certified Funeral Director and Mortician. He owns and operates an excavating business.  Blake attends East Tennessee State University.

Pam has six full time employees. Joyce Dyer is her chief deputy clerk.  She is the business tax supervisor.  Larry Brantley operates the drivers license station, as well as the motor vehicle division.  Elizabeth Buck does all the bookkeeping and county commission minutes.  Amy England is in-charge of processing all daily title work and preparing invoices to be sent to the Department of Revenue. Carol Williams and Candice Vickers perform all daily office duties. In addition to all of the above individual duties, each employee is responsible for serving all customers. After being elected to the office, Pam has added a new computer program through the Business Information System software provider.

To better serve the customers, the Clerk’s office is now open all day on Wednesday. Therefore, the office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

Credit and debit cards are now being accepted at the office for all transactions, online tag renewals, online business tax payments, and online notary applications. Marriage license and notary applications can also be filled out online to be completed at the office.

The County Clerk’s office also offers a Drivers License station that is used for driver license renewals and duplication of driver license. For more detailed information about drivers license please go to the drivers license tab on the left side of the page.

The office relocated across the street from the court house at the former Commercial Bank Building in September of 2007. At this new location a drive through window is now offered for renewals only if you have your registration with you.  A place for marriages is now also offered if the couple chooses to be married by the County Clerk.  The new location is more accessible for the handicapped and for customers that have business for the Clerks office only.

You may contact the Union County Clerks office by phone at 865-992-8043 or by fax at 865-992-4992.
